Obverse description The heraldic arms of the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland in high relief, comprising a shield charged with an Irish harp surmounted by a crown, supported on either side by a greyhound rampant. Above the shield stands a figure of Justice holding scales, and below is a ribbon banner bearing the motto in the exergue, with the engraver's initials 'TW' at the base.

Reverse description The reverse features a circular laurel and oak wreath enclosing a central field with an engraved presentation inscription. The outer legend around the border reads the society's name and foundation dates. The engraved text reads 'Awarded to Douglas Ampleforth for Superior Answering at the Final Examination Michaelmas Sittings 1895'.
