Obverse description A high-relief allegorical scene depicts a male figure (left) raising his arm to ward off a skeletal figure of Death descending from above, while a female nurse (right) tends to a prostrate sick patient on a table. Chinese characters 香港 appear in the left field, and the date 1894 is inscribed in a decorative cartouche at the base. The designer's signature T. BOUCHIER DES. appears at lower left and A. LYON SC. at lower right.
