Obverse description Reproduction of the Eton College seal depicting the crowned Virgin Mary in high relief at centre, hands clasped in prayer, flanked by angels placing a crown upon her head and attended by kneeling figures, with God the Father in glory above. Two heraldic shields flank the central composition, one bearing fleurs-de-lis and the other the royal arms of England and France quarterly, with a third shield at the base. A circular legend in Fraktur blackletter runs around the border.
