Obverse description A standing helmeted figure of Britannia holding a spear is attended by a robed female figure to her left, with multiple infant putti in the field; one putto holds a book inscribed 'REGIS OF HONO', an owl and books appear at centre, and a view of a building is depicted in the lower right. Rays of light descend from the upper field, where a small winged figure surmounts a domed temple. The Latin legend appears along the lower rim.

Reverse description The reverse field bears an oak wreath encircling an engraved presentation inscription. The outer legend is struck around the circumference, divided at left and right. The recipient name, award category, and date Dec. 1801 are engraved in cursive script within the wreath.
