Obverse description Left-facing truncated bust of Admiral John Jervis, Earl St. Vincent, in naval uniform with epaulettes, his hair dressed in a short queue. The effigy is set within an open laurel wreath, with the legend arranged around the border and the date 1800 in the exergue.

Reverse description Two standing figures face each other and clasp hands at centre: a sailor to the left wearing a round hat and a soldier or naval officer to the right wearing a plumed helmet and carrying a sword. Behind them, the field is engraved with a stylised Union flag. A crowned royal cypher appears at the top of the field, and the whole is enclosed within an oak-leaf wreath, with the motto divided on either side.
