Reverse description A detailed panoramic naval battle scene in high relief depicts the Battle of the Nile (Aboukir Bay), with numerous warships engaged in combat on a choppy sea, a fortification visible on the right, and a burst of light or explosion in the upper left sky. The circular legend around the field reads ALMIGHTY GOD HAS BLESSED HIS MAJESTY'S ARMS. In the exergue, separated by a horizontal line, the inscription reads VICTORY OF THE NILE / AUGUST 1. 1798. The engraver's signature C.H. KÜCHLER and mint mark M.B. SOHO are visible below the scene.
