Obverse description The crowned arms of Chester displayed centrally in relief, flanked on either side by a Prince of Wales feather plume. The shield bears three sheaves of wheat and a sword. Surrounding the arms are two ribbon scrolls inscribed with the motto legends, and a lower scroll carries additional Latin inscriptions.
