Reverse description The quartered arms of the University of Aberdeen displayed on a shield at centre, enclosed within a cusped Gothic tressure. Two concentric circular legends surround the central device, with UNIVERSITY OF ABERDEEN and PRACTICE OF MEDICINE in the outer band, and the Latin motto INITIUM SAPIENTIAE TIMOR DOMINI in the inner band.
