| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse depicts the Judaea Capta type: at left, a tall Roman military trophy consisting of a central palm tree hung with captured arms including a cuirass, helmet, and shields; at right, a female figure personifying Judaea seated in mourning on the ground, her head bowed and resting on her right hand in a pose of dejection, dressed in a long robe. The exergual legend IVDAEA appears in large capitals across the lower field, all within a beaded border. The composition commemorates the Roman suppression of the Jewish revolt and the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70. |
