Reverse description The Genius of the Roman People (Genius Populi Romani) portrayed as a youthful male figure standing left, nude or lightly draped, extending a patera over a small altar at his feet and holding a cornucopiae in his left hand. The composition conveys the abundance and divine favor bestowed upon Rome. The reverse legend appears in the field to the left and right of the figure. The style is consistent with early Flavian die-cutting, exhibiting fine but slightly worn relief typical of circulated gold aurei.
