| Descrizione del dritto | Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, rendered in high relief with strong, naturalistic portraiture characteristic of Flavian die-cutting. The emperor's mature features — pronounced brow, strong jaw, and close-cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath — are rendered with considerable sculptural depth. The circular legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan, occupying the full border of the obverse field. The flan itself is slightly irregular in shape, typical of hand-struck aurei of this period. |
