Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved curling hair beneath a laurel wreath. The emperor's paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, secured with a clasp, conveying imperial military authority. The portrait exhibits the characteristic naturalistic style of Trajanic coinage, with a strong, slightly idealized profile. A circular legend in crisp Latin capitals frames the effigy, reading continuously around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular in outline, typical of hand-struck Roman aurei of the early second century AD.
