| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in high relief with fine portraiture characteristic of the Trajanic era. The emperor wears a laurel wreath and a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, with the drapery rendered in naturalistic folds. The facial features display the strong, idealized physiognomy associated with Trajan's official portraiture. The encircling legend is inscribed in crisp Latin capitals along the outer rim. The overall composition reflects the accomplished die-cutting standards of the Rome Mint during the height of the Principate. |
