| Description du revers | The reverse depicts the Column of Trajan, shown in stylized form with a spiraling relief band of dots and a wreath motif encircling the shaft, surmounted by a standing statue of the emperor. Two eagles with spread wings flank the base of the column on either side, serving as symbols of imperial authority and apotheosis. The composition is symmetrical and monumental, evoking the actual Column of Trajan dedicated in Rome in AD 113. The reverse legend arcs around the upper field, dedicating the coin to Trajan as the best of princes. |
