Reverse description The personification of Fortuna stands in full figure facing left in a graceful contrapposto stance, draped in a long flowing chiton. In her extended right hand she holds a ship's rudder resting on a prow set in the lower field, symbolising divine guidance over the fate of the state, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopiae overflowing with fruit and abundance. The surrounding legend, divided across the upper and right fields, proclaims the emperor's principal constitutional titles. The composition is rendered in competent high-relief hammered style consistent with Rome mint production under Trajan's first consulship.
