| Beschrijving keerzijde | Radiate and draped bust of Sol, the sun god, facing right, with two distinctive locks of hair falling down the neck, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic style characteristic of Trajanic reverse imagery. The solar deity is depicted with a radiate crown of seven rays emanating from the head, conveying divine luminosity. The reverse legend, divided around the bust, records Trajan's full titulature including his Parthian victory title awarded in 114 AD. The flan shows the slightly irregular edges typical of hand-struck aurei of the period. |
