Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, with paludamentum visible at the truncation. The emperor's portrait is rendered with characteristic realism of the Trajanic period, displaying strong facial features and a short military hairstyle beneath the laurel wreath. The circumferential legend reads IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC, arranged continuously around the bust within a plain border. The high-relief effigy demonstrates the accomplished die-cutting artistry of the Rome Mint workshops during the late Trajanic era.
