| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Titus facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wreath and strong portraiture characteristic of Flavian die-cutting. The bust is bare-shouldered, presenting the emperor's effigy in the traditional Roman imperial manner. A beaded border encircles the entire design. The Latin legend runs continuously around the periphery of the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The portraiture conveys the idealized yet individualized likeness typical of Flavian gold coinage struck at the Rome mint. |
