The composition alludes directly to the Flavian triumph over Judaea and the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, a propagandistic theme prominently exploited on the coinage of both Vespasian and Titus. The reverse legend encircles the design within a beaded border, recording the titulature of Titus in the year AD 80. |
