(Translation: Imperator Titus Caesar Vespasianus Augustus, Pontifex Maximus. Supreme commander (Imperator) Titus Caesar Vespasian, emperor (Augustus), high priest.)
Reverse description The deified Vespasian, radiate and draped, seated left upon a throne or curule chair, holding in his extended right hand a small figure of Victory and grasping a long vertical sceptre in his left hand. The enthroned figure is rendered in the classical divine manner appropriate to a consecratio type, conveying imperial apotheosis. The legend DIVVS VESPASIAN arcs around the periphery within a dotted border, identifying the subject as the divinely consecrated former emperor.
