| Reverse description | Judaea Capta type: a mourning female figure, draped and veiled, seated right beneath a tall palm tree in an attitude of grief, representing the subjugated province of Judaea. To the right of the palm tree stands Titus in full military dress, his right foot resting on a helmet, holding a vertical spear in his right hand and a parazonium in his left, symbolizing Roman martial victory. The composition is a powerful commemorative statement of the Roman conquest of Judaea following the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.
