| Beschrijving keerzijde | A draped female figure, identified as Livia Drusilla in the guise of Pax or a seated goddess, is depicted seated right upon a throne or chair, her feet resting upon a low footstool. She holds a long vertical sceptre or staff upright in her raised right hand and extends an olive branch or patera in her left. The composition is framed by the encircling restitution legend IMP CAES TRAIAN AVG GER DAC P P REST distributed in Latin capitals around the periphery of the field. The iconography closely follows the well-known 'Livia seated' reverse type originally issued under Tiberius, here re-struck by Trajan as part of his celebrated series restoring the coinage of earlier emperors. |
