| Obverse description | Laureate and bearded bust of Severus II facing right, rendered with fine detail in the late Tetrarchic style, with short-cropped hair and stubble beard characteristic of the period. The emperor is depicted bare-headed or lightly laureate, draped and cuirassed at the truncation. The circumferential Latin legend reads SEVERVS AVGVSTVS, distributed across the field on both sides of the effigy. The portrait exhibits the broad, block-like facial modeling typical of Diocletianic workshop aesthetics. A beaded border frames the entire design. |
