Aureus - Sabinus Julianus LIBERTAS PVBLICA

Sabinus Julianus seized power in Pannonia in 284 AD during the chaotic interregnum following the death of Numerian, a moment when multiple claimants were pressing their cases simultaneously against Carinus. His reign lasted only months before Carinus suppressed the revolt. The brevity of the usurpation makes any gold coinage attributable to him extraordinarily rare — the mint had almost no time to produce, let alone distribute, an aurei issue before the pretender was eliminated.

RIC V.2 lists only a handful of specimens across all types for this reign.
