| Beschrijving keerzijde | Postumus depicted standing to the left, veiled and draped in priestly attire, performing a sacrificial libation at a lighted altar with his extended right hand while holding a long sceptre in his left. The scene emphasises the emperor's role as Pontifex Maximus and is rendered in the restrained classical style characteristic of the Treveri mint's gold coinage. The reverse legend, distributed in the field around the figure, records the emperor's third tribunician power and third consulship. The composition is well-centred on the flan with clear high-relief detail. |
