Beschrijving voorzijde Confronted jugate busts of Nero and Agrippina the Younger facing right, with Nero positioned in the foreground, bare-headed and wearing a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, and Agrippina the Younger immediately behind, draped and likewise bare-headed. The paired effigies reflect the exceptional political prominence accorded to Agrippina in the early years of Nero's reign. The encircling legend in Latin identifies both rulers, running continuously around the periphery of the flan.

Beschrijving keerzijde A quadriga of four elephants advances to the left, drawing a processional car upon which are mounted two sellae curules (ceremonial chairs), each bearing a radiate seated figure representing Divus Claudius and Divus Augustus, both posthumously deified and depicted with the radiate crown symbolic of divine status. The composition is a funerary and honorific type referencing the consecratio rite, emphasising dynastic legitimacy through deified ancestors. The reverse legend, distributed across the field and exergue, names Agrippina Augusta as mother of Nero Caesar and son of the divine Claudius, issued by senatorial decree (EX S C).
