Obverse description Draped bust of Ceres facing right, her hair elaborately rendered in wavy locks falling to the neck and crowned with a wreath of corn-ears, identifying the goddess of grain and fertility. The portrait is executed in fine relief with careful attention to the tresses and the overlapping ears of wheat forming the wreath. No legend appears on the obverse. The field is plain, and the design is enclosed by a neat border of dots running along the coin's periphery.
