Obverse description Diademed head of Ceres facing right, her hair elaborately dressed in ridged waves and falling in curling locks at the nape of the neck, adorned with a grain-ear diadem and earring visible at the jaw. The portrait is rendered in fine Republican style with careful attention to the goddess's characteristic agricultural attributes. The field is plain, and the design is contained within a well-defined border of large beads.
