Reverse description Hercules, the divine patron of Maximianus, depicted kneeling to the right with his left knee pressed upon the back of a stag, his powerful hands gripping the animal's antlers in a scene of heroic conquest. The figure of Hercules is rendered with characteristic muscular vigor, referencing the emperor's Herculian dynastic identity within the Tetrarchic ideology. The reverse legend VIRT-VS AVG-G is divided across the field, proclaiming the virtue and martial valor of the co-emperors. A mintmark appears in the exergue, identifying the Rome mint and officina. A fine beaded border frames the entire reverse composition.
