| 正面描述 | Laureate bust of Maximianus Herculius facing right, rendered in the bold, somewhat rigid Tetrarchic style characteristic of the Diocletianic reform period. The emperor is depicted with short-cropped hair beneath a well-formed laurel wreath, a short beard, and a muscular, truncated neck, conveying imperial authority and martial strength. The portrait fills the field with pronounced high relief, typical of Nicomedian workshop production. A beaded border frames the design. The Latin legend MAXIMIANVS AVGVSTVS runs around the periphery. |

| 背面描述 | The reverse presents a votive inscription set in five lines within the field, entirely enclosed by a laurel wreath tied at the base. The five-line text reads XX / MAXI / MIAN / I AVG / SMN, commemorating the vicennalia — the twentieth anniversary of Maximianus's reign — and identifying the Nicomedia mint by its officina mark SMN. The wreath border is finely rendered with individual leaves and berries, consistent with Tetrarchic aureus production at Nicomedia. The design is without exergue line, the entire reverse field being occupied by the wreath and inscription. This votive type was issued in conjunction with the joint vicennalia celebrations of Diocletian and Maximianus in AD 303–304. |
