| Reverse description | Concordia, goddess of harmony, seated left upon a high-backed throne, her figure rendered in graceful drapery. In her extended right hand she holds a patera, and her left arm rests upon a small figure of Spes (Hope). A cornucopia is placed beneath the throne, enriching the allegorical composition. The reverse legend encircles the field, proclaiming Hadrian's full titulature and the personification CONCORD. This type was struck early in Hadrian's reign to emphasise the harmonious transfer of power from Trajan. |
