| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail characteristic of early Hadrianic portraiture. The emperor is depicted with his distinctive short beard and curled hair beneath the laurel wreath, the drapery of the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass articulated across the chest. The effigy is shown in three-quarter view from the front, conveying imperial authority and military dignity. The encircling Latin legend runs along the beaded border of the obverse field. |
