Reverse description Jupiter standing facing, head turned to the right, rendered as a nude heroic figure in the classical tradition, holding a thunderbolt in his extended right hand and a tall vertical sceptre in his left. The god is depicted in a contrapposto stance upon a ground line, with his powerful musculature rendered in fine hammered relief. The surrounding Latin legend P M TR P COS III is disposed around the periphery of the flan, referencing Hadrian's offices as Pontifex Maximus, holder of tribunician power, and consul for the third time.
