| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Hadrian facing right, with a short beard rendered in fine curling locks characteristic of his early portraiture. The emperor is depicted wearing a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, with the muscled cuirass visible at the lower truncation. The portrait exhibits the robust, high-relief modelling typical of the Rome mint in the early Hadrianic period. The circular Latin legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |
