| Beschrijving keerzijde | Fortuna Redux seated left on a throne, holding a rudder set on a globe in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left, emblematic of prosperity and safe return. The throne is elaborately rendered with decorative legs visible beneath the seated figure. The circular legend DIVI NER NEP P M TR P COS runs around the upper and lateral field, while the inscription FORT RED appears in the exergue, separated from the main field by a ground line. The composition is characteristic of early Hadrianic reverse types celebrating the emperor's auspicious accession and return to Rome. The die work is of high quality, consistent with Rome Mint gold issues of AD 117. |
