The horse is shown at a vigorous gallop with one foreleg raised. The abbreviated Latin legend COS III PP is distributed across the field, with COS to the left and III PP to the right and lower field, all enclosed within a beaded border. This reverse type, celebrating Hadrian's third consulship and title of Pater Patriae, is consistent with issues of RIC II.3 1053 struck at the Rome mint circa AD 129–130. |
