Obverse description Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic short curly hair and clipped beard typical of his mature portraiture. The effigy displays fine detail in the treatment of the emperor's facial features and drapery folds at the truncation. A beaded border frames the design. The surrounding legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan in well-spaced Latin capitals.
