| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and full beard in the Hellenistic portrait tradition adopted by this emperor. The effigy displays finely detailed physiognomic features including a strong jaw and aquiline nose, consistent with official Hadrianic portraiture. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan, framed by a beaded border. The portrait is executed in high relief, typical of the finest Trajanic-Hadrianic aurei from the Rome mint. |
