| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, rendered in the robust provincial style characteristic of the Alexandreia Troas mint. The emperor is depicted with a short beard, his paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, and a laurel wreath crowning his head. The circular Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the energetic, somewhat roughly executed engraving typical of the Gothic-period provincial issues of this mint. |
