Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, rendered in the robust provincial style characteristic of the Alexandreia Troas mint. The emperor is depicted with a short beard, his paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, and a laurel wreath crowning his head. The circular Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait displays the energetic, somewhat roughly executed engraving typical of the Gothic-period provincial issues of this mint.

Obverse lettering IMP LICINI GALLIENVS
Reverse description A horse standing and grazing to the right, its head lowered toward the ground line, rendered in high relief with a naturalistically detailed mane and tail. The animal stands on a plain exergual line, below which the mint abbreviation TRO appears in the lower field. The colonial legend COL AVGO arcs around the upper periphery of the flan, referencing the Colonia Augusta status of Alexandreia Troas. A dotted border frames the entire reverse design, consistent with the hammered provincial coinage of this period.
