| Reverse description | A helmeted soldier, identified as a Roman emperor or genius of the emperors, stands facing left in military dress, holding a long spear diagonally in his right hand and a globus (orb) in his left, symbolising universal dominion. At his feet kneel two captive barbarian figures in submissive postures, one to the left and one to the right, underscoring the legend's proclamation of victory everywhere. The reverse legend VBIQVE VICTORES is inscribed around the field in Latin capitals. The mint mark TR appears prominently in the exergue, identifying the Treveri (Augusta Treverorum) mint. The composition is rendered with confident, high-relief cutting typical of Tetrarchic gold coinage from this prestigious Rhineland mint. |
