Obverse description Laureate head of Galerius Maximianus facing right, rendered in the robust, naturalistic style characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The emperor's short-cropped hair is surmounted by a laurel wreath, and the face displays a pronounced brow, strong jaw, and short beard typical of Tetrarchic portraiture. The bare neck and truncation terminate at the lower field. The circumferential Latin legend reads MAXIMIANVS AVGVSTVS, distributed around the portrait within a beaded border.
