Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Galba facing right, rendered in high relief with strong, naturalistic portraiture characteristic of late Julio-Claudian and early Flavian die-cutting. The emperor's aged features are rendered with individualizing detail, including pronounced jowls and a furrowed brow. The laurel wreath crowns the head as a symbol of imperial and military authority. The circular legend encircles the effigy, with beaded border visible at the rim.
