| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, with a small globe positioned at the base of the neck truncation, a characteristic device on his coinage signifying dominion over the world. The effigy presents the emperor with aged, fleshy features rendered in a realistic portrait style typical of late Julio-Claudian and Flavian-era die engraving. The circular legend runs around the periphery of the flan, separated from the bust by a finely beaded inner border. The portrait conveys imperial authority through the laureate wreath, a traditional symbol of triumph reserved for Roman emperors and victorious generals. |
