| Obverse description | Laureate head of Domitian facing right, rendered with fine portraiture detail including short curled hair beneath the laurel wreath and a characteristic strong jaw. The neck is bare and the portrait is set within a beaded border that frames the entire field. The circumferential legend runs clockwise in crisp Latin capitals, naming the emperor with his full imperial titulature. The engraving is executed in the high-relief Flavian style characteristic of Rome Mint aurei of this period. |
