Obverse description Laureate bust of Domitian facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in the high-relief Flavian style typical of early Domitianic aurei. The emperor's effigy displays his characteristic short curly hair beneath a laurel wreath, with strong facial features in profile. The surrounding circular legend reads IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M, distributed around the bust from lower left to lower right. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered gold coinage of the Roman Imperial period. The portrait conveys imperial authority, combining realistic physiognomy with the idealizing conventions of Roman official coinage.
