Reverse description A centrally placed architectural column or cippus, inscribed with the abbreviated legend LVD / SAEC / FEC arranged in three lines, commemorating Domitian's celebration of the Ludi Saeculares (Secular Games) of AD 88. Flanking the column on either side, the consular numeral COS XIIII appears horizontally across the field. The entire central device is enclosed within a finely detailed laurel wreath tied at the base, with the wreath rendered with individual leaves and berries of high artistic quality. A beaded border surrounds the reverse, and no exergual inscription is present.
