Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, rendered with finely detailed curled hair beneath the laurel wreath, the portrait exhibiting the characteristic youthful physiognomy of Domitian during his years as Caesar. The bust is bare-shouldered, consistent with Flavian aureus portraiture of the period. The encircling legend is divided around the portrait field, reading CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS. The coin displays the slightly irregular flan edge typical of hand-struck Roman gold coinage of the Flavian era.
