Struck in the early 80s AD to commemorate Domitia's son, who died in infancy — the child's deification was politically calculated, elevating Domitian's dynastic ambitions by placing his own offspring among the gods. The infant is styled *Divus Caesar*, son of the emperor, a title that had no precedent for a child who never lived to hold office or command.
Calicó 949 confirms this as one of the rarest aurei of the Flavian dynasty. The circumstances of the child's death remain unrecorded in surviving sources.
