She extends her right hand forward, presenting a laurel wreath, while her left hand trails a long palm branch behind her. She treads upon a short ground line beneath which a horizontal sword or spear is visible, reinforcing the martial iconography of eternal victory. The encircling legend VICTORIA AETERNA is distributed across the upper field, partially interrupted by a circular perforation at the right, pierced in antiquity or post-antiquity for use as a pendant. The field surfaces show the warm, slightly worn gold characteristic of a circulated or mounted hammered aureus from the Antioch mint. |
