In his extended right hand he holds a thunderbolt directed downward, while his left hand rests on a long vertical sceptre. The deity's stance conveys divine authority, consistent with Diocletian's adoption of Jovian ideology. The reverse legend IOVI CONSERVATORI SC arcs around the field, and the mintmark SC appears in the exergue, identifying the Cyzicus mint. |
